Building Progress in March and April

The beginning of this landmark facility is now visible to the surrounding community as March has seen the continuation of the main frame being installed with concrete columns, second floor slab and the stair cores being constructed.

A little less visible but just as noteworthy is the commencement of the waterproofing and tanking works to the existing basement levels, the basement floors also being prepped for the installation of the under-floor gym heating.

The design team are ever present and busy producing final construction detailing, we have weekly video design meetings which allows input from UK, Spain and further afield as your international design team functions globally and assists with bringing these iconic designs a step closer to their physical presence in Harrow.

It leaves the design team to wish the entire community and trustees a blessed Ramadan, Ramadan Mubarak to all.

On 7 October 2023, we will be hosting our second major Gala Dinner to fundraise for The Salaam Centre, a new dynamic hub open to the people of Harrow and beyond.

By hosting the dinner at Wembley Stadium, we aim to draw on our values and the potential the new Salaam Centre will bring: health and well-being at the heart of our community.

Guests will be treated to exclusive access to the historic home of football: Wembley Stadium

Lots of Events this month

With Ramadan upon us, we have had daily events at Mahfil Ali. We have welcomed Shaykh Zoheir Esmail, Dr Munzela Raza and Shaykh Shomali for daily talks.

Our children's programme has had over 120 registered with over 40 on the waiting list. The halls have been packed during Salaat and Iftar too! We have just about managed in the current premises but are greatly looking forward to holding these and so much more in The Salaam Centre!

On 1st April we had our first ever Nasheed and Qari recitation event. We were fortunate to have the amazing Qari Mustafa al Ali, Qari Hani al Wardi and also Yusuf Nurmohamed recite. If you missed out, we have a similar event on 15th April after iftar.

We also held a programme on Diabetes in Ramadan online. We had an expert team leading this conversation with excellent participation from both audience and facilitators.
